There are a few very important tasks associated with using the digital camera. Most suitable place is hence the computer. This discussion is thus generally focused upon this mechanism to transfer the digital camera images to the computer, and the various types of such a transfer. there are two methods for transferring the digital camera images to the computer if looking from a very simple point of view; they are firstly by attaching the digital camera directly to the computer (a process that is popularly called tethering) and secondly by the use of a memory card reader.

USB is basically an interface between a computer and peripheral devices like keyboards, telephones, scanners, and printers. In the present world most digital cameras are endowed with arrangements for a comparatively nippy USB connection . In the current case the digital camera is a peripheral device. This USB feature enables the computer to be directly connected to the digital camera and transfer the images via the USB port present in the computer itself also. The appropriate software installed within the computer and the digital cameras provides the entire task for making a successful transfer of the images from the digital camera to the computer.

Regarding the software associated with such a digital image transfer from a digital camera to a computer, it is important to state that digital cameras come equipped with CDs containing driver files, image viewers and photo editing software. Some digital cameras come with a PCMCIA interface also.

The next feature for making a successful transfer of image from the digital camera into the computer is via memory card readers. These memory card readers make image transfers without consuming a lot of the precious digital camera batteries; this is the best part of this method. Two important points define the memory card readers; the first is the type of memory card the digital camera uses for storing images. Secondly, the type of connection the digital camera has with the computer. Then the transfers of images are made appropriately from the digital camera into the computer memory efficiently.

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

Does it really make a difference what size memory card you use? To your camera, no; to you, however, it could mean the difference between running out of space or getting the picture you want on your memory card.

Take into account how many pictures you usually take at a time, when choosing the most logical size . Your needs if you are a world traveler would be different from those of a person who only uses a camera for holiday get-togethers. How big the files are of the pictures you take, you also need to decide . Smaller file such as pictures for online will take less space and enable you to fit more on a card. Larger files for printing will need more space.

If you have a 2 mega-pixel camera, 128MB is usually enough. For a 3 or 4-megapixel

camera, a 128MB or 256MB memory card is usually plenty. For a 5-megapixel camera, start with a 256MB memory card.

Here’s a rough guideline of how many pictures a flash memory card can hold:

* Uncompressed images or up to 100 small, compressed images, a 128MB flash memory card can store about 21-41 large . This is good enough for most photographic needs.

* 42-82 large pictures and nearly 200 smaller ones, a 256MB card will store about twice . Important events like weddings and once in a lifetime events might warrant this size just to make sure you don’t miss that one special moment.

If you are planning a long vacation with a lot of picture taking, this might be best with the capacity to hold 168-328 large images and a total of close to 800 smaller images, a 1GB card has room for nearly 4 times as much as a 256MB card.

Remember you can always use several smaller cards and just change them when they are full, whatever you decide . So don’t panic if you don’t have a large memory card, It only takes a few seconds to switch memory cards .

A clearance sale and also wholesalers is the best way to look for cheap digital camera accessories. Another way to buy cheap digital camera accessories is to buy them secondhand though if you choose this option makes sure to check that the accessories you plan on buying are in perfect working condition. Buying something that is used is not always the best course of action – even if it allows you to buy truly cheap digital camera accessories.

Cheap Digital Camera Accessories From Used Item Stores

If you do decide to buy low cost digital camera accessories in the form of used items you should first ask for the history of the item and then if you are convinced that the history shows that the accessories are well kept and in good working condition you can then go out and buy them.

It might however be better to shop for cheap digital camera accessories online as many online stores are ready to offer very attractive deals. Also, whenever a new digital camera is launched it is standard practice to reduce its price and this is when you can also buy lower costing digital camera accessories.

Comparing prices is of course another solution to buying cheap digital camera accessories and here again checking online is to your advantage because many websites actually specialize in helping you to compare various accessories against one another in terms of features and prices and this is how you can buy cheap digital camera accessories in the most convenient and effective manner. Accessories that work across brands and models can be used by the person searching for cheap digital camera accessories. So, it pays to look for an accessory that works on several different models and makes because it is sure to be priced lower.

The more effort you put into doing comparison shopping the better are your chances of buying cheap digital camera accessories. The cost of same digital camera accessory can be different in two shops. So, the more stores you check out the better are the chances of finding truly cheap digital camera accessories. Finally, buying an entire set of digital camera accessories can prove to be the best way of buying cheap digital camera accessories as buying each accessory separately can prove to be a costlier proposition.

If you want to buy digital camera accessories be sure to first check online because you will find many more options and less costly items. By also checking out sites such as shopper.com you can be sure that you will get a chance to buy cheap digital camera accessories and also those accessories that are costlier – but, you will still get the best deal.

The Nikon D90 is an outstanding middle-range DSLR camera. Here are the basic Nikon D90 accessories you may need for your camera:

The 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED-IF AF-S VR DX Zoom-Nikkor Lens is a great lens for your Nikon D90. If you can afford top-class and more expensive lens, go for the Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G AF-S. For wide angle lens, the Tokina AF 12-24mm f/4 AT-X Pro DX (IF) is a great buy.

For the flash, get the compact Speedlight SB-600, which features great functionality. It has simple LCD including six buttons that allow for simpler external flash operation. Each of these backlit buttons is easy to understand.

For the filters, go for circular polarizers, which add flavor to the images. The circular filters cut polarized lights that hit on the lenses. These circular filters can minimize unnecessary reflect ions caused by non-metallic surfaces such as glass or water.

For the battery, get Nikon EN-EL3e Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery, on of the most basic Nikon D90 accessories. Ensure optimum rechargeable battery life by using the regular complete charge of a battery before recharging it. A newly charged extra battery makes this possible, giving you nonstop shooting.

What SDHC/SD memory card should you get for the D90 camera? Consider getting Kingston, SanDisk, or Lexar. It is best to buy two 8G memory cards, which you will need when shooting HD videos.

The Nikon CF-D80 Semi-Soft Case is a great bag for D90 users. This bag has the appearance and looks of the real and soft glove leather, which you can buy for great price. If you need a backpack for your camera, go for the good-looking Lowepro Slingshot 200 All Weather Backpack; but if you want a nice shoulder bag, buy the Lowepro Rezo 170AW.

For sturdy tripods, buy the Manfrotto 322RC2 or the Manfrotto 190XPROB 3 Section Aluminum Pro Tripod. Both receive outstanding reviews among consumers at Amazon. They suit your Nikon D90.

Lastly, the best remote control for the Nikon D90 is the Wireless Remote Control ML-L3. This slim wireless remote control directly triggers shutter without disturbing the camera. The ML-L3 remote control works well especially for eliminating the vibrations or for capturing a subject that is hard to approach.

Capturing a moment is best done with a digital camera in this time and age, but besides the apparatus you also need to know if you need any accessories, and how to choose them. You may be a digital photography fan or just an occasional user, but in both cases you will be able to tell the story of a moment that cannot be brought back.

Digital photography allows you to touch many lives through images of beauty and art which will be able to take and to keep in electronic format. People who are very good at it have started out with this as a hobby but some even managed to turn it into a profession!

Regardless of whether photography is a profession or a pastime for you, you will find that digital camera accessories are not only for the experts, but that there are extras available even for the most basic compact camera. Even some cell phones with cameras have dedicated accessory lines!

Some accessories are better suited for experienced photo-takers, but several kinds are of great help for beginners too. Here are some of the accessories that even beginning users should not be without.

A camera bag is one of the most ubiquitous camera accessories, and few people will walk out of an electronics shop with their new digital camera without also having purchased a corresponding bag. The bag allows you to carry your equipment around as well as to store any extras that you may need on your photo-taking adventures.

Camera bags come in many different shapes, sizes and colors. While you may also carry your camera in a normal bag it makes sense to invest in a specialized bag as it’s purpose-made and often padded.

Of all the digital camera accessories, perhaps the camera tripod of the most useful – it reduces camera shake and therefore the likelihood of a blurred picture, especially in low light conditions, and allows you to take pics from unusual angles. Tripods may seem bulky at first, but bear in mind that a great majority of tripods are either foldable or retractable and should be able to fit in most of the medium size to larger camera bags.

Don’t forget to check if your camera screws onto the tripod when acquiring a new one, or you will have to buy another!

The possibility to take many pictures, in the form of extra storage cards, is another great extra. In fact most digital cameras come with little internal storage, and you will have to an extra card right away. Being able to take a lot of pictures is especially useful if you are photographing fast-moving objects, such as on a safari or at a sports event.

While old style cameras required photographic film, modern digital cameras necessitate memory cards as their most important accessory. The memory that is inbuilt in most cameras in only enough for a tiny number of photos, so you will need one or more storage cards at all costs.

Don’t stop at getting a single memory card for your digital camera, though. There are several reasons why you should get more than just one. For starters, digital camera memory cards are cheap and don’t take up any space, and having several will greatly improve your chances to take more and better pictures.

For example, if you are about to go on a remote trip, somewhere where it will be difficult to transfer the images to a computer on a regular basis, such as on a sailing boat for instance, having a lot of digital camera memory cards will allow you to take more pictures.

But the greatest thing about having several digital camera memory cards is that you will use the camera differently, not more weighing every single picture but having the luxury to take several shots of the same subject and then to choose the best one later.

Thanks to memory cards you will be able to use advanced features, such as digital camera settings that automatically take several pictures with different exposures every time that you press the shutter, without worrying about finding yourself without photo storage.

You will generally end up taking a higher volume of pictures and therefore having more shots from which to select the best ones. Will it make a difference for you if you are in a remote location for an extended period and are limited to 20 pictures a day, or to 200?

Also, it could happen to you to forget to delete or transfer the contents of the memory to another device like and to find yourself with a full memory when you most need it. Having extra digital storage capacity could mean the difference between taking that wonderful picture and missing out on a priceless moment.

You never know when your existing memory card will fail so keeping an extra card can pay dividends when the time comes. Just be aware though of what type of memory card your digital camera uses as there are various types of cards available for different digital cameras such as SD cards and Sony memory sticks. You don’t want to buy a memory card that is not compatible with your digital camera.

Regarding the amount of memory, nowadays storage cards range from one to 32 GB and more. You should take as much memory as you may need and then some more, spread over two or three cards for redundancy.

Once you have a lot of digital camera memory cards, you should also get a card reader to transfer pictures to a PC more quickly, or also to send them directly to a digital camera printer.

Looking to buy a camera that you can take underwater without a special housing? Learn more about the options and pitfalls of underwater cameras by reading the following tips:

1) First of all, the fastenings: Your camera is only just as waterproof as its gaskets, so check these regularly, especially the ones places that are opened more frequently, such as memory card slots and buttons.

2) Quality of the pictures: a decent resolution is a must for underwater photography, especially if you may want to zoom up details of shots once the shot has been taken. Five megapixel is good for compact waterproof cameras, and eight is adequate for SLR’s.

3) Looks and bulkiness. These are important, as you need to make sure that the device will fit your hand and your swimming or diving style. Some cameras come in bright colors to aid visibility, but not everyone likes them. If there is something that you miss, shop around some more and you may just find what you are seeking.

4) Industry certifications: Often overlooked by people when choosing a waterproof camera, these give you peace of mind about the standard that your camera was built to. You should look at Japanese Industry Standard designation Waterproof 8 for a camera that you can take on shallow dives, up to 5 meters.

5) Characteristics: make sure that you have all the extra capabilities that you will need. Whether it’s a lens mount for filters, extra flash sockets, or simply different burst modes and automatic settings, check for them and don’t hesitate to ask for assistance at the shop.

6) You bought a waterproof camera? Great! Now clean it. Regularly. Be especially vigilant around dust, tar and sand, these will destroy your gaskets and water WILL leak into your device, rending it useless. Or your lens will jam. A well maintained camera is a long-lived camera.

7) Avoid exposing your waterproof camera to harmful chemicals, This includes Chlorine, so avoid using it in artificial pools. The sea, rivers and lakes are much safer environments for underwater photography equipment.

make sure that you do not end up with a splash-proof camera, instead of a waterproof one. These are not intended to be submersed, and will assuredly leak and then break if you do put them under water.

9) Make sure that you take adequate time to read your camera manual and read all there is to know about your waterproof camera’s features, program modes, and uses. Don’t rush into using it and you will be better in using it after a while.
