What Kind Of Power Flows Through Your Old Digital Camera?

Make sure you get a decent resolution LCD with any camera in this category. 230,000 pixels would be the minimum resolution I’d settle for here. You may want to check it outside in bright sunlight before you buy one as well. Some LCDs have a nasty habit of fading away till they’re practically useless outdoor. I harp on the LCD quality, only because your probably not going to find a viewfinder on many cameras in this category. Manufacturers like to ditch the viewfinder for more LCD size. The downside being, that the LCD better be good, as it’s the only way you’ll be able to know what your taking a picture of. Side note: be sure to carry around extra batteries . . . big LCDs are battery hogs. This svp reviews and this best slrs for image quality should help with nikon coolpix s51 digital camera.

Being a 12 mega pixel camera may seem great at first glance. To others however there is always the concern that Canon is trying to shoehorn far too many pixels onto a image sensor too small. That does seem to be the case here, and unfortunately the image noise on the PowerShot G9 is a bit too noticeable for a camera in this price range. Especially with pictures taken at higher ISO levels. For 99% of the people that buy this camera anything over 8 mega pixels is really a waste. Unfortunately, consumers have been educated by the manufacturers to believe that higher megapixels mean a better camera. In reality, as proven by the Canon G9 more megapixels is actually a flaw.

Canon Powershot SX10 IS. Canon is one of my personal favorite brands, and this camera is one of the reasons why. This Canon is comparable in price (around $350) to the previously reviewed Panasonic Lumix, but with 20X zoom, instead of just 18. Even a few die hard SLR owners I’ve hear from, swear from this camera. A lens range of 28-560mm is nothing to sneeze at. Especially with the clarity, and noise free pictures produced by this camera, even at higher ISO settings.

Unfortunately, Olympus seems to have comprised on build quality with the E510 to compete here. Buttons and controls don’t seem durable or instill confidence that they will still be in place after several hundred presses. The lens that comes with the Evolt seems uneven in it’s movement, and has a tendency to stick.

The Canon Power Shot SD870 IS made a name for being a compact camera with a 4x digital zoom and 3.8x optical zoom.

While there is plenty of competition in the digital camera marketplace, it’s pretty hard to go wrong with a Canon camera. Most Canon digital camera reviews you read will reflect that.

Friends of ours recently used their 790SW at one of those indoor water slide parks. They shot a video while hurtling through one of those big blue tubes from beginning to final submersion at the bottom. It’s a pretty trippy clip as the light streams through the semi-translucent tube and the riders pitch to and fro. Definitely a fun camera. Some slight sacrifice in image quality are completely outweighed by the fun factor under these circumstances.

Really nice pocket digital cameras can be found just about anywhere. They’re very popular, but should not be confused with the camera with your cell phone.
