If your camera has over 3 mega pixels, then you can continue evaluate other specifications because this is enough resolution for a personal use, and cameras above this limit have very spicy prices. Don’t be greedy when choosing mega pixels. For vacation pictures or family albums you can safely choose a 3 mega pixel camera, it will return beautiful pictures.

Optics are also important, they are the eyes of your camera. Camera lenses are extremely important in obtaining good quality images, especially if it’s mega pixel number is big. Most modern digital cameras have lenses signed by certain famous lens producing brand. Be careful not to get charmed by a big digital zoom. Digital zooming means only that the camera is digitally adjusting the image and enlarging pixels in order to give you a closer look, therefore returning a lower quality image. Buy a camera that has at least 3x optic zoom, but do not over do it with the zoom, there’s no need to spend much more money just because you want to be cool and have a 15x optical zoom witch you will never use.

Each digital photography camera comes with a multifunctional package that ensures a good user functionality. Modern cameras even have special functions that modify pictures as you take them.
